Men's Tennis Falls to No. 6 UCLA

The Cowboys (18-5) fell behind early after losing the doubles point. Sophomore Mark Van Elden and senior Jiri Jezek fell to 24th-ranked Marcin Matkowski and Rodrigo Grille, 8-5, at No. 1 doubles. The All-Big 12 duo finished the season with a 15-5 record.
Sophomore Boris Kuharic and freshman Juan Felipe Diaz fell to Efran Djahangiri and Alberto Francis, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles.
The Bruins kept the momentum going into singles play where they won three straight matches in straight sets to advance to the Elite Eight.
Freshman Tomas Bohunicky fell to the Djahangiri at No. 5 singles, 6-1,6-4. Junior Yevgen Bondarchuk fell to 24th-ranked Matkowski, 6-2,6-2, at No. 2 singles.
The match was clinched for the Bruins when Jezek fell to Grille, 6-3,6-1, at No. 4 singles. Jezek, an All-Big 12 member, finished the season with an 18-3 record.
The Cowboys will look to return to the NCAA Championships next year when they return six of seven starters.
