Cowgirl Golfers finish second at NCAA West Regional

USC won the team title with a three-round total of 873, seven strokes better than the Cowgirls. Oklahoma State’s 880 was its lowest round in a regional tournament, and its second-place finish is the best in school history at an NCAA Regional.
Four Cowgirl golfers finished the three-round tournament at four-over-par 220. Seniors Linda Wessberg and Christi Cano, as well as sophomore Annie Thurman and freshman Karin Sjödin, all tied for 10th place. Sophomore Jenny Karr shot a three-over 75 on Saturday and finished at 232.
The top-eight teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 20-23 at the Kampen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ind. It will be Oklahoma State’s third-consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships and 12th appearance overall.
