Men's Tennis Advances to Second Round of NCAA Tournament

The Cowboys jumped to an early 1-0 start after winning the doubles point. Sophomore Boris Kuharic and freshman Juan Felipe Diaz defeated Andy Metzler and Brad Pomeroy, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles. Sophomore Mark Van Elden and senior Jiri Jezek clinched the doubles point by defeating Trystan Meniane and Nicholas Monroe, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles.
OSU never looked back as they won three singles matches to capture the win. Kuharic recorded the second team point by defeating Metzler, 6-3,3-6,6-3, at No. 3 singles. Junior Yevgen Bondarchuk defeated Meniane, 6-4,6-4, at No. 2 singles giving the Cowboys their third team point.
The match was clinched when Jezek defeated Derek Porter in straight sets at No. 4 singles, 7-5,6-1.
The Cowboys will face No. 11 ranked Minnesota in the second round at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
