Men's Tennis Defeat Wichita State

The Cowboys jumped to a 1-0 lead after winning two of three doubles matches to claim the doubles team point. Sophomore Mark Van Elden and senior Jiri Jezek defeated Angelo Manns and Marko Despot, 8-0, at the No. 1 doubles spot. Junior Yevgen Bondarchuk and freshman Jiri Spousta defeated Jaime Rodriguez and Leo Ramirez, 8-5, at the No. 2 position.
Van Elden scored the second team point for the Cowboys at the No. 1 singles position beating Rodriguez, 6-1, 6-2. Freshman Tomas Bohunicky followed with a win over Carlo Contente at the No. 5 spot, 7-5,6-1. Bondarchuk clinched the match for the Cowboys by defeating Joggan Austin, 6-2, 7-5, at the No. 2 position.
The Cowboys will return to action tomorrow when they host the Tulsa Hurricanes at 2 p.m.
