2002 Spring Season: Finished the season with a singles record of 13-5 including a 3-4 record in Big 12 play...teamed up with Angel Diankov to post an 11-6 record in doubles action...the duo won 11 of their first 13 matches...was selected to the First-Team Academic All-Big 12 team...was also selected to the Verizon Academic All-District VI At-Large team.
2001 Fall Season: Jezek played in five matches at the Tulsa Hurricane Invitational and posted a 4-1 mark, winning all four matches in straight sets...teamed up with Mike McCarty to post a 3-1 record in dual play...the tandem won all three of its matches at the Tulsa Hurrican Invitational.
2001 Spring Season: Posted a 14-7 record including a 3-4 mark in Big 12 action...won seven of his last eight matches of the season... Big 12 Champion at No. 5 singles...won his first match at the NCAA Regional against Matt Behrmann of Florida in straight sets...teamed up with Anthony Zafiris to post a 7-12 record...was selected to the First-Team Academic All-Big 12 team.
2000 Fall Season:Posted five wins against two losses...won all five matches in straight sets...won all three matches at the Tulsa Hurricane Invitational...went 1-1 at the Rolex Regional.
2000 Spring Season: Posted a 6-12 ledger in doubles play and a 14-5 mark in singles action... finished third in the Big 12 in singles and doubles.
1999 Fall Season: Did not compete
Before OSU: Competed at the junior level for 13 years.
Personal: Majoring in computer science and German... born July 5, 1979... son of Marie Jezkova and Jir Jezek... hobbies include: playing sports, dancing, reading, photography and studying languages... favorite author is Louis Lamour... favorite band is The Beatles... favorite movie is Braveheart and Blue Streek... lists favorite athletes as Dominik Hasek and Pete Sampras.
Coach Wadley on Jiri Jezek: Jiri is our returning senior and team captain that has played at the No. 3 or 4 for us the past couple of seasons. He has a done a tremendous job and we expect him to play at the No. 3 or 4 position again this year for us. He is a great student and does a super job. He has an all court game with a strong forehand and and backhand. He will team with Mark Van Elden to play doubles.
