Trisha Skibbe Named to All-Big 12's Second Team
April 18, 2003 | Cowgirl Basketball
The Cowgirls' leading scorer and rebounder this season is currently sixth in the league in scoring, averaging 17.1 points per game, and her 7.6 rebounds per game are the eighth-best total in the league. The Oxford, Kan., native is also tied for sixth in the conference with seven double-doubles.
An all-tournament pick at the 2002 Fun in the Sun Shootout, Skibbe has improved her production since the beginning of conference play, averaging 19.0 points and 8.8 boards in OSU's 16 Big 12 games.
Earlier this season, Skibbe became the 15th player in school history to surpass the 1,000-point mark and currently ranks 10th on the school's all-time scoring chart at 1,188 points.
The 6-2 center, who garnered honorable mention all-conference honors last season, is the first Cowgirl to be named to the all-conference team since Jennifer Crow appeared on the second team during the 1999-2000 season.
Skibbe and the Cowgirls will return to action on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. when they take on Missouri in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament being held in Dallas.
