Cowgirls Travel to Michigan State

COWGIRLS HIT THE ROAD TO TAKE ON MICHIGAN STATE Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (3-6) will travel to East Lansing, Mich., to battle Michigan State in its final non-conference road game of the season. The Cowgirls will be in search of their first back-to-back wins of the year after knocking off Central Michigan in their last outing. Sunday's contest marks just the second time the two squads have met. In the squads' 1991 meeting, a second round NCAA Tournament game, OSU prevailed in a triple overtime thriller, 96-94. For the Cowgirls, the trip to the Breslin Center will be only their second true road game of the season with the other coming on Nov. 23, a 75-55 loss at Tulsa.

ABOUT THE SPARTANS The matchup will mark MSU's first home game since Dec. 3 and the Spartans will also be looking to run their winning streak to two as well after winning at Providence on Dec. 20. MSU's four losses this season have all been close calls, coming by a combined total of 11 points and none by more than three points. Offensively, the Spartans are led by senior forward Syreeta Bromfield's 16 points per game and are getting a double-double (10.2 pts, 10.4 rbs.) on average from freshman forward Liz Shimek.

LAST TIME OUT The Cowgirls won their first home game under the direction of head coach Julie Goodenough on Dec. 20, downing Central Michigan, 66-57. In the win, OSU was fueled by the freshman tandem of Meghan Craig and Lori Allen. Craig poured in a career-high 13 points to lead the team and tied Allen with a team-best six rebounds and three assists.
