Men's Netters Defeat Drake

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's tennis team defeated Drake, 5-2, on Saturday to improve to 4-0 on the season.
The Cowboys got off to a quick start by winning the first four singles matches.
Sophomore Mark Van Elden had an impressive win over Drake's Anthony Perkins at the No. 1 singles position. Van Elden defeated Perkins in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. Junior Yevgen Bondarchuk won the No. 2 singles match by defeating Jack Frankwoicz, 6-4, 6-4.
Freshman Tomas Bohunicky defeated Kirk Schuler in straight sets at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-1. Senior Jiri Jezek scored the fourth singles point for the Cowboys at the No. 5 singles spot. Jezek defeated Johnathon Tishler, 6-0, 7-6.
Sophomore Boris Kuharic fell to Felipe Montenegro at No. 3 singles, 7-6, 2-6 (10-12). Freshman Jiri Spousta was outlasted by Matt McClure at No. 6 singles, 5-7, 6-1, 3-6.
The Cowboys scored their fifth team point by winning two of three doubles matches.
Bondarchuk and Spousta teamed up at the No. 1 doubles spot to defeat Perkins and Schuler, 8-2, who entered the match with a 17-5 record. Kuharic and freshman Juan Felipe Diaz fell to Frankowitz and Montenegro, 9-7, at the No. 2 doubles position.
At the No. 3 doubles spot Van Elden and Jezek secured the doubles point by defeating Tishler and McClure, 8-4.
The Cowboys will return to action on March 15 when they host Nebraska at 11 a.m.
