Oklahoma State's men's tennis team will begin the season against Centenary College at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Quail Creek.
Leading the Cowboys this season will be senior and team captain Jiri Jezek. The Pribram, Czech Republic native is the single retuning starter from last year's team.
The Cowboys welcome six newcomers to the team, including three freshman.
Sophomore Mark Van Elden transferred from Auburn and will look to make an immediate impact for the Cowboys. Van Elden will play at either the No. 1 or 2 singles position and will also team up with Jezek in double action.
Junior Yevgen Bondarchuk will look to compete at the No. 1 or 2 singles position. The Kiev, Ukraine native was selected to the coaches preseason All-Big 12 team.
Freshman Tomas Bohunicky and sophomore Boris Kuhuaric will compete this spring after playing for the Cowboys this past fall. Bohunicky was crowned the Gold Main Draw singles champion at the Hurricane Invitational during the fall season.
Also playing for the Cowboys will be freshmen Jiri Spousta and Juan Felipe Diaz.
"We have a lot of fresh faces and new things that I don't know about yet," said Head Coach James Wadley. "We are all learning from each other and I'll see how they perform under pressure. The talent is very good and I expect great things from these guys."
