Cowgirl Basketball Falls to Iowa State, 79-55

AMES, Iowa - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered a 79-55 defeat on Wednesday night, losing to Iowa State before a crowd of 10,548 at Hilton Coliseum.
The Cowgirls (5-14 overall, 1-7 Big 12) trailed 42-18 at the intermission before mounting a 23-3 run to open the second half and cut the deficit to four at 45-41, but could get no closer. Freshman Meghan Craig fueled the run, scoring all nine of her points on a trio of three-point buckets.
OSU was led offensively by Trisha Skibbe's 14 points. The Oxford, Kan., native also finished with a team-high eight rebounds, while Chantoya Hawkins chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds and six assists.
For the Cyclones (9-10, 4-4) Lisa Kriener recorded her second double-double of the season with career highs of 27 points and 13 rebounds
OSU will return to action on Sunday when it travels to Norman for a 2 p.m. contest with Oklahoma.
