COWGIRL BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO TEXAS A&M FOR WEDNESDAY CONTEST
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (6-18 overall, 2-11 Big 12) resumes its road schedule on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. contest against Texas A&M (10-14, 3-10). The Cowgirls are in search of their first conference road win of the year, while the Aggies will look to rebound from back-to-back road losses at Iowa State and Kansas State.
ABOUT THE AGGIES
Texas A&M will attempt to sweep the season series against OSU on Wednesday night for the first time since the 1996-97 campaign. The Aggies are led offensively by Toccara Williams' 12.6 points per outing. The junior guard is also averaging 5.1 boards per game and has dished out a team-best 131 assists while averaging a league-best 4.65 steals per game. Forward Janae Derrick checks in as the squad's top rebounder at 6.1 boards per game. In the teams' first meeting in Stillwater, A&M came away with a 69-54 victory behind 18-point performances from Williams and Sabrina Mitchell to overcome a career-high 31-point outing from OSU's Trisha Skibbe. The Cowgirls hold a 17-6 advantage in the all-time series, including a 7-2 margin in College Station. Last season, OSU knocked off the Aggies, 62-49 in the regular-season finale behind Skibbe's 30-point, 12-rebound performance. Tari Cummings chipped in with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Over her last four games against A&M, Skibbe is averaging 23.8 points and 9.8 boards.
LAST TIME OUT
On Saturday night, OSU was held to a season-low 25 percent from the floor en route to a 48-83 setback at the hands of No. 8 Texas Tech. Trisha Skibbe led the way offensively for the Cowgirls, finishing as the only OSU player in double figures with 15 points to go along with a team-high five rebounds and three blocks. Four Cowgirls finished with two steals apiece, while the team committed a season-low 11 turnovers.
