Last Time Out For OSU
Oklahoma State connected on 11-of-20 three pointers, including a school record nine in the first half, as the Cowboys defeated No. 3 ranked Texas, 82-77, Saturday afternoon in Stillwater. Victor Williams had a team-high 20 points while Melvin Sanders added 19 and Cheyne Gadson provided 15 off the bench. Tony Allen added 16 for OSU. It was a free-throw fest for most of the afternoon, as four players fouled out and there were 71 free throws in the game by both squads. OSU's defense also limited Texas to just 4-of-14 shooting from beyond the arc and, despite a 32-point performance by T.J. Ford, the UT bench scored just two points. Gadson also had eight assists for the Cowboys, a career high. OSU trailed just once at 2-0 before going on a 11-0 run and never looked back. Oklahoma State led by as many as 15 in the first half and took a 47-33 lead into the lockerroom. Texas made a surge in the second period, cutting the lead to two with 50 seconds remaining, but Williams and Gadson combined to shoot 6-of-6 from the line to seal the win.

Williams, Allen Honored
The National Association of Basketball Coaches named its Division I All-District teams on Thursday morning, and two Cowboys made the list. Senior guard Victor Williams and junior guard Tony Allen were both named to the second team of the NABC All-District 12 squad. The first team included Nick Collison and Kirk Hinrich, both of Kansas, Oklahoma's Hollis Price, Arthur Johnson of Missouri and Creighton's Kyle Korver. Others on the second team were Missouri's Rickey Paulding, Jake Sullivan of Iowa State and UMKC's Michael Watson. The individuals are selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, and the 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2002-03 basketball season.
