Cowgirl Basketball Inks Two Players During Fall Signing Period

Taleesha Conder, a 6-0 forward from Alva, Okla., and Trenisha Williams, a 5-9 guard from Ft. Worth, Texas, have both signed letters of intent with the Cowgirls and will be eligible to compete next fall.
Conder directed Alva High School to a 26-3 record last season and its first state championship since 1924 with a 32-point performance in the title game. She was named the tournament's MVP after pouring in 82 points in three games (27.3 ppg), marking the third-highest total in the history of the event.
As a junior, she led Class 3A in scoring at 22.4 points per game and averaged 9.7 rebounds on her way to being tabbed as the 89er Conference Player of the Year and an all-state selection by the Daily Oklahoman. Conder averaged 20.8 points per outing as a sophomore and was named the conference's newcomer of the year.
“Taleesha is a tough, hard-nosed player that is a prolific scorer and will do whatever it takes to win,” Goodenough said. “She showed her competitiveness in the state championship game last year when she single handedly led her team to the title.”
Williams has been named a Street and Smith's All-America honorable mention pick three times and is considered a top-100 prospect by several recruiting services, including the All-Star Girls Report which ranked her as the 85th-best player overall the the No. 20 point guard nationally.
A first-team all-state pick at Ft. Worth Christian High School after averaging 17.5 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two assists. She was all-district selection as a sophomore as well as the district newcomer of the year. Williams transferred to O.D. Wyatt High School where she will compete during her senior season.
“Trenisha comes from one of the top 4A teams in the state of Texas that should make a serious run at the state title,” Goodenough said. “She brings with her a high level of quickness and athleticism.”
