2001-02 (Redshirt): A transfer from North Texas, Jason had to sit out the 2001-02 season due to NCAA transfer regulations ... suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear midway through preseason practice, and had the knee surgically repaired.
At North Texas (1999-2001): Miller started 27 games for North Texas his sophomore season, and was the second-highest scorer on the team with a 12.8 ppg average ... finished with 40 blocks his sophomore year, the second-highest total in a single season in school history ... rejected eight blocked shots vs. New Mexico State ... scored in double figures 18 times and had four double-doubles ... scored a career-high 33 points vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville and grabbed a career-high 14 boards against Southwest Missouri State ... impressed enough of the Big West Conference coaches to earn a spot on the All-Freshman Team ... finished with season averages of 5.7 points and 4.9 rebounds his first year ... registered three double-double performances, which came against TCU (10 points, 10 rebounds), Wyoming (13, 10) and Nevada (13, 10) ... led the Mean Green in rebounding eight times.
High School: A two-sport (basketball, cross country) athlete, Jason averaged 18.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 61.7 percent from the field and 78.2 percent at the free throw line his senior season ... led the Lions to a 25-10 record, a District 19-4A title and to the regional quarterfinals of the state playoffs ... selected a first-team Class 4A all-state pick by the TABC and first-team all-region and co-MVP of District 19-4A ... also named a USA Today All-American and a McDonald's All-America nominee ... averaged 19 points and nine rebounds per game and was picked first-team all-district his junior year ... named first-team all-district and Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore.
Personal: Born Nov. 17, 1980, Jason is the son of Greg Miller and Susan Carver. He has two brothers, Cory and Jakob, and two sisters, Brittany and Taylor. Jason enjoys fishing, hunting and playing pool in his spare time. In fact, he caught an eight-pound bass this past summer west of Stillwater. Jason graduated in August of 2003 with a bachelor's of science in education, and is currently pursuing his teacher's certificate.
