Two Cowboys Advance to Round of 16

TULSA, Okla. Â Tomas Bohunicky and Boris Kuharic defeated the one seed and the five seed, respectively, to advance to the Round of 16 at the 2003 OMNI Hotels Region V Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla., yesterday.
Bohunicky defeated top seeded and the 58th ranked player in the country in Tulsa's Dustin Taylor. Bohunicky made it look easy winning in straight sets 6-3, 7-6. He will advance to face 12th-seeded Rohan Gajjar from Arkansas.
Boris Kuharic defeated Illinois State's Ben Capuccitti, the fifth seed, 6-3, 6-2. He will face Arkansas' Imran Ismail in the next round.
Juan Felipe Diaz was eliminated in the second round by third seeded Nathan Price from Arkansas 6-2. 6-0.
The Cowboys' doubles tandem of Diaz and Kuharic advanced to the next round by taking out the Evansville duo of Marc Boiron and Derek Boland 8-1. Diaz and Kuharic are the No. 7 seed and will face Oklahoma's team of Ondrej Fukala and Tommy Garrison.
The tournament will continue today at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus.
