Federal Way, Wash. - Emma Zackrisson, a senior on the Oklahoma State women's golf team, won the prestigious Edith Cummings Munson award, it was announced Friday night during the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships banquet. Zackrisson was named honorable mention All-American, along with teammate Christi Cano.
The Munson award is presented to a collegiate women's golfer that has been named to both the All-American and All-Scholar teams. The accolade is then given to the golfer that has made both teams and has the highest grade point average. Zackrisson is the second Cowgirl to have won the honor, as Stephanie Martin earned the award in 1992.
Cano, a junior for the Cowgirls this season that finished 27th at the NCAA Championships, was named honorable mention All-America as well. Her 295 four-round total is the fifth-lowest in OSU history at an NCAA event.
