Cowboy Basketball Signs California Standout to Letter of Intent

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's basketball team has announced the signing of Onye Ibekwe to a National Letter of Intent it was announced today.
"I am very pleased that Onye has made the decision to join the Cowboy basketball program," OSU Head Coach Eddie Sutton said. "He is a fierce competitor that is tough and athletic. He brings a lot of energy to the basketball court and we feel he can come in and contribute to next year's team."
Ibekwe, a 6-7, 230-pound forward, enjoyed a standout prep career at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, lettering all four seasons. An all-league selection, Ibekwe was also a McDonald's All-America nominee.
"He is a wonderful young man that comes from a great family. I am excited about the opportunity to coach him," Sutton said.
In addition to his success on the hardwood, Ibekwe was an all-city performer for the CHS football team and competed as a member of the school's track and field squad as well.
