Oklahoma State's men's tennis team will host the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Debois Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla.
The Cowboys enter the match with an 8-4 record, while the Sooners hold a record of 9-6. OSU leads the overall series 28-21, winning last year's match in Norman, 7-0.
Leading the way for the Cowboys will be seniors Matt Prentice and Fran Kepelka. Prentice and Krepelka will team up at the No. 1 doubles spot where they hold a 9-3 record on the season. Krepelka has also won 9 of his last 10 matches at the No. 2 singles position.
" Matt (Prentice) and Fran (Krepelka) have really had a terrific year and they are playing very good right now," said head coach James Wadley. "They have never lost to OU in the three years they have been here so they want to keep that undefeated record against the Sooners."
The match will be the first actual home match for the Cowboys due to bad weather and cancellations.
"This is our first home match, which is unusual this late in the year," said Wadley. "We've had some that have been rained out, canceled and postponed. That adds a little more excitement to it and allows their friends and other people to get out and watch them this year."
The Bedlam match should be a very exciting and close match.
"It's going to be a good, quality tennis match, because you just never know when OSU plays OU," said Wadley. "I think it will be an exciting match for people to come out and watch."
