Cowgirls Roll Past Texas A&M, 92-76

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team had six players score in double figures on Tuesday afternoon en route to picking up a 92-76 win over Texas A&M at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
The Cowgirls, who improved to 16-14 overall, led 33-32 before closing out the first half with a 22-6 run to take a 55-38 advantage into the intermission.
Junior Thia Willis paced OSU in the stanza, scoring 12 of her 16 points. The Midwest City, Okla., native connected on 3-of-6 beyond the three-point arc in the half and hit four of the team's five three-pointers in the game.
In the second half, sophomore Trisha Skibbe hit back-to-back baskets to give OSU its biggest lead at 65-46 with 14:33 remaining. Skibbe, who scored 30 points in last week's win over A&M, finished the game with 16 points.
The Aggies (13-16) cut the margin to single digits on a three-point play by Toccara Williams at the 4:43 mark, trimming the Cowgirls' lead to 79-70. Williams scored again one minute later to whittle the margin to 79-73 before OSU closed out the game with a 13-3 run.
Senior Tari Cummings scored six of the Cowgirls' points down the stretch on her way to a 17-point, 11-rebound outing.
Fellow senior Terrisha Osborn recorded her first career double-double, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior Shelby Hutchens and senior Nikki Lawrence also reached double digits for OSU, scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Kim Moore led A&M with 26 points and seven points.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Wednesday with a second-round matchup against Oklahoma at noon.
