Men's Netters Upend 31st ranked Harvard

Oklahoma State's 51st ranked men's tennis team defeated the 31st ranked Harvard Crimson, 4-3, on Friday.

The Cowboys fell behind early,1-0, after dropping two of three doubles matches.

Junior Jiri Jezek evened the match, 1-1, when he defeated Mark Riddell at the No. 3 singles spot, 6-2, 7-5. George Turner gave the Crimson back the lead by beating sophomore Mike McCarty at the No. 5 singles position, 6-1, 7-5.

The Cowboys gained their first lead of the day when a pair of freshman, Loren Collins and Angel Diankov, won their matches in three sets.

Collins outlasted William Lee, 4-6,6-3,6-3, at the No. 6 singles position. Diankov defeated Chris Chiou, 4-6,6-4,6-4, at the No. 4 singles position.

The Cowboys clinched the match when senior Matt Prentice came back in the third set to defeat David Lingman,7-6,6-7,7-6, at the No. 1 singles position.

OSU moves to 8-3 on the year and will return to action on Saturday against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos at 1:30 p.m. in Santa Barbara.
