Cowgirl Tennis Defeats Texas A&M

Oklahoma State's 42nd-ranked women's tennis team defeated 21st-ranked Texas A&M,4-3, on Thursday at the DeBois Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla.
The Cowgirls got off to a strong start by winning two of three doubles matches to claim the first team point.
The No. 10 ranked duo of junior Linda Faltynkova and sophomore Katia Kolodynska defeated No. 16 ranked Leah Killen and Martina Nedorostova,8-3, at the No. 1 doubles spot.
Junior Kate Vasylyeva and senior Dominika Olszewska teamed up to win at the No. 3 doubles spot,8-5, over Roberta Spencer and Majorie Terburgh.
"I am very proud of our doubles team," said head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski. "All of our girls played fantastic matches."
The Cowgirls picked up the victory by winning three of six singles matches, including the top three singles positions.
Olszewska outlasted Jessica Roland at the No. 1 singles spot, 7-5, 2-6, 6-4.
Faltynkova had little trouble at the No. 2 singles position. She defeated Olivia Karlikova,6-0, 6-2.
"I am really pleased to see Linda win by that large of a margin," said Lubicz-Majewski. "She played an incredible match."
Vasylyeva won at the No. 3 singles position in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, over Nedorostova.
With the win, the Cowgirls improve their overall record to 7-7 and 2-3 in Big 12 play. The Cowgirls will return to action when they host Texas on Sunday at 11 a.m.
