Men's Netters Fall to Virginia Tech

Oklahoma State's men's tennis team fell to Virginia Tech, 4-3, on Sunday at the Rice Invitational.
The Cowboys took an early 1-0 lead after winning two of three doubles matches. Seniors Matt Prentice and Fran Krepelka defeated Francis Huot and Saber Kadiri, 8-6, at the No. 1 doubles position. Junior Jiri Jezek and freshman Angel Diankov defeated Andreas Laulund and Stephane Rod, 8-5, at the No. 2 doubles spot.
Freshmen Loren Collins and Ben Facker fell to Davor Dupljak and Michael Kurz, 8-1, at the No. 3 doubles spot.
Virginia Tech bounced back to win four of six singles matches for the victory.
Kadiri defeated Prentice, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3, at the No. 1 singles position. Krepelka defeated Huot in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 2 doubles spot.
Jezek fell to Dupljak in straight sets at the No. 3 singles position, 6-3, 6-2. McCarty fell to Kurz in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, at the No. 5 singles spot.
Collins fell Grant Semon in a three set match at the No. 6 singles position, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The deciding match came between Rod and Diankov at the No. 4 singles spot. With the match tied 3-3, Rod outlasted Diankov in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(5) to win the deciding point.
The Cowboys will return to action on Tuesday when they host Arkansas at 1p.m.
