Cowboy Tennis Defeats Rice

Oklahoma State's men's tennis team (7-2) defeated Rice,4-3, in the Rice Invitational Saturday afternoon at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.
OSU fell behind 1-0 after losing two of three doubles matches but came back quick in singles play.
The Cowboys came back to take a 2-1 lead after receiving wins at the No. 2 and No. 4 singles positions. Senior Fran Krepelka defeated William Barker at the No. 2 singles position, 7-5, 6-4. Freshman Angel Diankov defeated Cody Jackson at the No. 4 singles spot, 7-6, 6-2.
After dropping the No. 1 and No. 5 singles matches Cowboy junior Jiri Jezek tied the match at the No. 3 singles position. Jezek defeated Fabien Giraud, 6-4, 6-7, 7-5.
The match came down to the No. 6 singles match between freshman Loren Collins and Ramez Qamer. Collins outlasted Qamer in a three set battle, 6-7, 7-5, 6-3, to give the Cowboys the deciding point.
The Cowboys will return to action on Sunday against Virginia Tech on the final day of the Rice Invitational.
