Oklahoma State's men's tennis team (3-2) fell to Nebraska 4-3 in the Cowboys' Big 12 opener in Lincoln, Neb. on Saturday.
The Cowboys jumped to an early lead by winning two of three doubles matches giving them the first team point.
Seniors Matt Prentice and Fran Krepelka defeated Joel Reckeway and Jacek Wolicki 8-3 at the No. 1 doubles position.
The doubles point was clinched when Angel Diankov and Jiri Jezek defeated Fungai Tongoona and Jose Hernan 8-4 at the No. 3 doubles position.
Krepelka captured the second team point at the No. 2 singles spot when he defeated Wolicki 6-1, 7-5.
Diankov had little trouble at the No. 4 singles position beating Tongoona 6-2, 6-0.
The deciding match came down to the No. 6 singles match between Loren Collins of OSU and Jose Rivera of Nebraska. Rivera outlasted Collins in a close three set match 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5).
