Fredrik J?nz?n Earns Academic All-District Honor

Stillwater, Okla. - Fredrik J?nz?n, a senior on the Cowboy Basketball team, has been named to the District VI Academic All-America team, it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The district is comprised of universities in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
J?nz?n, who carries a 3.267 grade point average in international business, is averaging 12 points and nearly seven rebounds per game for the 13th-ranked Cowboys. In the school records, he ranks ninth all-time in rebounding with 707 and 17th in scoring with 1,165 points.
J?nz?n is joined on the District VI team by Donny Beacham, a sophomore at Texas-Arlington with a 3.65 GPA in information systems, Eric Channing, a senior at New Mexico State majoring in management with a 3.89 GPA, Omar-Seli Mance, a junior at Rice with a 3.298 in mathematics, and McEverett Powers, a senior at Texas-San Antonio majoring in information services with a 3.50 GPA.
The 6-10 native of Sweden is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 first-team honoree and was named second-team All-Big 12 by the coaches last season. He has started 62 straight games for Oklahoma State in his career.
