Oklahoma State's Tari Cummings was named the Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week in a vote of a media panel for games played from Feb. 11-17.
Cummings, a 5-11 senior forward, averaged 18.5 points and six rebounds last week while helping Oklahoma State to wins over Texas Tech and Iowa State. It was OSU's first wins against ranked opponents in consecutive games in school history.
Against Tech, Cummings scored the Cowgirls' final six points, including a three-point play with eight seconds remaining to give OSU the lead for good and snap an 11-game losing streak to the Lady Raiders. She was 6-of-13 from the field, 7-of-9 from the free throw line and grabbed six rebounds and two steals, helping seal the Cowgirls' 58-55 win.
The Pocola, Okla., native closed out the week with a 7-of-12 performance from the field and hit 4-of-6 from the charity stripe against Iowa State. She recorded 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal to propel OSU to a 64-63 triumph.
The Cowgirls return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Lincoln, Neb., to battle the Nebraska Cornhuskers at 7 p.m.
