Cowgirls Look To Square Season Series Against Texas Tech

Oklahoma State's Cowgirl basketball team (11-13 overall, 3-8 Big 12) will look to end a four-game losing streak on Thursday when the No. 16 Texas Tech Lady Raiders come to town for a 7 p.m. contest.
The Cowgirls will be looking to bounce back from their worst shooting game (24 percent) of the year. OSU hit just 15-of-62 shots from the floor on its way to a 90-56 loss to the Texas Longhorns on Saturday night.
Tech (14-8, 6-6) is coming off an 85-69 loss at Baylor on Saturday despite a 25-point performance from Amber Tarr, who made 7-of-9 three-pointers in the game.
Jia Perkins, Tech's leading scorer at 16.7 points per contest, sparked the Lady Raiders to their 62-51 win over the Cowgirls on Jan. 23 in Lubbock. The sophomore guard poured in a game-high 20 points, 16 of which came in the second half, to help Tech pull away down the stretch. Jolee Ayers chipped in with 16 points. hitting 7-of-10 shots from the floor.
Trisha Skibbe recorded a double-double (13 pts., 10 rbs.) to pace the Cowgirls.
COMING UP
OSU will host No. 10-ranked Iowa State on Sunday in a televised contest.
The game will be the first of two Fox Sports Net broadcasts, Feb. 24 against
Baylor being the other, for the Cowgirls this season.
In the all-time series, OSU holds a 21-16 advantage overall and a 9-7 lead in Stillwater. The game will be the first for ISU (19-5, 7-5) since defeating Colorado 85-75 on Feb. 9.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cowgirls were unable to overcome a dismal shooting performance (24
percent) en route to suffering their fourth consecutive loss, a 90-56
setback to Texas. OSU managed just three field goals in the first half and
trailed 53-22 at the break. Trisha Skibbe scored 12 second-half points for
the Cowgirls on her way to a team high 15. Tari Cummings snared a
season-high 11 boards, while Thia Willis had a career-high three steals.
