Cowgirl Basketball Falls to Michigan State, 91-39

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team lost to Michigan State on Sunday afternoon, falling 91-39 in front of 4,316 fans at the Breslin Center.
The Cowgirls (3-7) were held to 13 first-half points, tying an arena record for the lowest point production in a half, after shooting 25 percent and turning the ball over 14 times.
The Spartans (6-4) took advantage of 27 rebounds, including 13 on the offensive end, and seven three-point baskets to build a 48-13 advantage through the first 20 minutes. MSU finished the contest with a 49-25 edge in the rebounding column.
In the stanza, Syreeta Bromfield poured in 15 of her 24 points on the afternoon, while Lindsay Bowen notched 13 of her game-high 28 in the first period. Bowen turned in a 10-of-15 performance from the field, including a 4-of-7 from beyond the three-point arc.
For the Cowgirls, junior Trisha Skibbe was the only player to score in double figures after finishing with 15 points, while junior Jenny Brown came off the bench to score six points and pull a team-best five boards.
OSU will return to action on Thursday when the the nationally-ranked Arkansas Lady 'Backs come to Stillwater for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
