COWGIRLS RETURN HOME TO FACE CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (2-6) will return home for the first time in nearly two weeks to face Central Michigan (5-3) after a two-game swing through Playa del Carmen, Mexico. In search of its first home win of the season, OSU will look to rebound from Tuesday night's setback to Oral Roberts in the championship game of the Fun in the Sun Shootout.
ABOUT THE CHIPPEWAS
Central Michigan comes to town after seeing its two-game winning streak halted on Tuesday at the hands of Cleveland State, 66-63. The Chippewas opened the season with a pair of wins, defeating Siena Heights and Oakland, before falling to Harvard. A win over Youngstown State preceded a loss to Alabama-Birmingham before back-to-back victories against Yale and Detroit. CMU is led offensively by forward Desiree Eidson, who is the only player on the squad in double figures in the scoring column (17.4 ppg) and is the team's leading rebounder, pulling 8.1 caroms per game. Friday night's meeting will be the first in the history of the two programs. The Cowgirls hold a 5-0 record all-time against opponents from the Mid-American Conference.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cowgirls split a pair of games at the Fun in the Sun Shootout in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. OSU opened the tournament with a 53-47 win over Texas-San Antonio on Monday before falling to Oral Roberts, 72-65, in the championship game. In the win, freshman Lori Allen led the way, scoring a career-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor. Fellow freshman Meghan Craig earned her first career start and chipped in with nine points and a career-high seven rebounds. Against ORU, the Cowgirls got a season-high 23-point performance from junior Trisha Skibbe. The Oxford, Kan., native also had a team-best seven rebounds. Both Allen and Skibbe were named to the event's all-tournament team.
