Tulsa Knocks Off Cowgirls, 75-55, at Bertha Teague Classic

TULSA, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered a 75-55 loss to Tulsa on Saturday night at the Bertha Teague Classic before 2,450 fans at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
The Cowgirls (0-2) took a seven-point lead at the 7:45 mark of the first half on a jumper by junior Trisha Skibbe, making the score 21-14. The Oxford, Kan., native finished with her first double-double of the season, tallying 21 points and 13 rebounds.
The Golden Hurricane (2-2) answered with a 15-0 run to build an eight-point lead with 3:32 remaining in the half. TU's Allison Curtin fueled the run with eight of her game-high 30 points during the stretch.
OSU senior Chantoya Hawkins cut the deficit to three with a baseline jumper with one second on the clock to make the halftime score 36-33 in favor of the host school.
However, Tulsa proved too much down the stretch, finishing the game on a 15-2 run to provide the final margin.
The Cowgirls will open the home portion of their schedule on Tuesday night when they take on Wichita State at 7 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
