STILLWATER, Okla. - Josh Fields threw for four touchdowns and ran for another as Oklahoma State qualified for a bowl game by beating Baylor 63-28.
Tatum Bell ran for 106 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries as the Cowboys (6-5, 4-3 Big 12) beat the Bears (3-9, 1-7) in Baylor coach Kevin Steele's final game.
Rashaun Woods caught 7 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. He set conference and school records for receiving yards in a season and a new school mark for catches in a year.
The Cowboys assured themselves their first non-losing season since 1997 and gave themselves a chance for their first postseason appearance that season, when they went to the Alamo Bowl and finished 8-4.
They're not guaranteed a bowl berth because nine Big 12 teams are eligible for eight conference bids. A victory next weekend over No. 4 Oklahoma, whom the Cowboys upset 16-13 last year, would bolster their chances.
Reggie Newhouse led Baylor with 123 yards and a TD on seven catches. Rashad Armstrong rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries.
Steele, who was fired Nov. 3, completes four seasons at Baylor with a 9-36 record and just one conference victory.
Oklahoma State put Baylor away in the second quarter, scoring 35 points on five drives that each began in Bears territory and totaled 14 plays. The Cowboys had five scoring drives of less than one minute.
Baylor scored first on a 12-play, 80-yard drive, capped by Armstrong's 11-yard touchdown run. But the Bears committed eight penalties and allowed four sacks in the first half.
Oklahoma State led 49-7 at halftime, the most points the Cowboys have scored in a half since a 56-point second half against Southern Illinois in 1973. They led 63-7 in the third quarter before Baylor added late scores.
Fields finished 10-for-14 passing for 243 yards before giving way to Aso Pogi in the third quarter. He threw TD passes of 34, 29, 20 and 12 yards. His 1-yard rushing TD tied the game at 7-7.
Woods' broke Texas' Kwame Cavil's Big 12 record and Hart Lee Dykes' team record for yards in a season, while surpassing his own school single-season mark for catches. He now has 86 receptions for 1,305 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Newhouse, already Baylor's career receptions leader and playing his final game, set new Bears records for catches and receiving yards in a season with 75 for 1,140 yards.
