Saturday's Game
Oklahoma State will travel to Lubbock, Texas, to face the upstart Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 3 p.m. in a nationally televised broadcast on CBS. OSU is 15-2 overall and 2-2 in Big 12 Conference action after a 79-61 loss to the No. 4 Kansas Jayhawks in Stillwater on Tuesday. TTU is 13-3 overall and 2-2 in league play after losing to Texas, 74-71, in overtime Monday night in Lubbock.
Last Time Out For Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State suffered its worst loss at home in the Coach Sutton era as Kansas defeated OSU, 79-61, Tuesday night in Gallagher-Iba Arena. The trio of Drew Gooden, Nick Collison and Kirk Hinrich combined for 46 points on 19-of-35 shooting. Cowboy Fredrik J?nz?n recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. However, as a team, OSU shot just 35.6 percent from the floor and just 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) from beyond the arc. Kansas, meanwhile, shot nearly 54 percent, the first time an OSU opponent has shot above 50 percent this season, including 21-of-31 (67.7 percent) in the first half. KU led by 22 at halftime, and by as many as 24 in the game. Despite an even 14 turnovers for each team, KU outscored OSU, 17-5, in points off turnovers.
OSU-Texas Tech on Television
Saturday's game will be broadcast nationally on CBS at 3 p.m. Vern Lundquist will handle the play-by-play duties while Billy Packer will provide expert analysis. Oklahoma State is 18-11 all-time on CBS, including last year's loss to USC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. This will mark the Cowboys' first regular-season appearance on CBS since Jan. 18, 1997, when OSU defeated UNLV, 73-54.
OSU-Texas Tech: The Series
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series with Texas Tech, 18-6, including a 4-2 mark in Lubbock. OSU won the first eight meetings between the two schools. The Cowboys have rattled off nine wins since, including a 71-59 victory last season in the Big 12 Tournament. Here is a look at the all-time series:

Sutton vs. Knight
This will be just the fifth meeting between coaches Eddie Sutton of Oklahoma State and Bob Knight of Texas Tech. The pair have combined to coach 2,034 games in 68 years. They have a combined record of 1471-563, good for a .723 winning percentage. Despite all the coaching legacies between the two, they have played against each other just four times, with an even 2-2 record. All four games were played while Knight was at Indiana and Sutton was at Kentucky.
Last Time Out For Texas Tech
It was a hard-fought battle, but in the overtime period, Texas was too much for Texas Tech, which fell, 74-71, in Lubbock on Monday night. Andy Ellis had 23 points and Andre Emmett added 21 for the Red Raiders, who lost for just the third time this season. Tech shot just 38 percent compared to the Longhorns' 50, but took nine more shots thanks to 19 UT turnovers and 20 offensive rebounds. Tech was just 10-of-19 from the floor in regulation, leading to the overtime period. The Red Raiders got just four points from their bench, four points and eight rebounds from Michael Marshall.
Last Time vs. Texas Tech
Oklahoma State earned an NCAA berth with a 71-59 victory over Texas Tech in the Big 12 Tournament last season. The Cowboys trailed only briefly and beat Tech for the third time last season. Maurice Baker scored 31 points to lead Oklahoma State. Fredrik J?nz?n added 21 points and had nine rebounds for the Cowboys. Tech led only twice, at 2-0 and 16-15, both on baskets by Jamal Brown, who finished with 14. After Brown put Tech up for the second time, Baker scored seven points in a 13-0 run and the Cowboys went on to a 32-18 halftime lead. Oklahoma State opened the second half with a 13-2 run, but Tech then scored 19 straight points to close to 45-39. J?nz?n scored five points as the Cowboys ran off the next 10 and went on to close out the season for the Red Raiders. Tech shot just 29 percent from the field, and only 4-of-21 on three-point shots.
Last Time in Lubbock
Maurice Baker scored 17 points to lead Oklahoma State to a 66-58 victory over Texas Tech last season in Lubbock. The game was a makeup game for one postponed after OSU lost two players, six members of the team's travel party and its two pilots in the plane crash. The Cowboys led throughout most of the game. Tech came as close as one point, 43-42, with 13:33 to play, but the Red Raiders were never able to re-establish their first half lead after turning the ball over five times in the first half and another three-straight times in the second. OSU went on a 12-2 run moving ahead of Tech, 55-44, with 8:43 to go. The Red Raiders fought back on an 11-5 run, but only got within five points, 60-55, with 2:32 to play. The Cowboys expanded their lead to eight with free throws and a Victor Williams layup for the win. Fredrik J?nz?n added 15 points for OSU, while Williams and Terrence Crawford added 11 each. Tech was led by Ellis' 18 points, followed by Cliff Owens' 12 and Jayson Mitchell's 11. Overall, OSU hit 24-of-47 compared to Tech's 22-of-66. During the second half, the Red Raiders hit only 11-of-40 shots.

OSU will host Nebraska on Wednesday at 7 p.m. with the Colorado game on Saturday at 3 p.m. That game will also be televised on ESPN Regional, part of the Big 12 Conference's television package.

Cowboy Noteworthy
* Oklahoma State ranks seventh in all three major ratings percentage indices. Those are the Sagarin ratings, collegerpi.com, and College Basketball News ratings.
* Oklahoma State's 13-0 start to the season was the third-best in school history. The 1991-92 Cowboys started the year off 20-0, while the Aggies of 1950-51 began the year with 16 wins before a loss.
* Oklahoma State is one of 11 teams that have 15 victories this season. Cincinnati, Syracuse and Miami (Fla.) all have 16 wins, while OSU joins Florida, Alabama, Butler, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Southern Illinois and Hawaii.
Cowboys In The Polls
Oklahoma State is currently ranked sixth in both the Associated Press poll and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Cowboys dropped a spot after falling to Texas two weeks ago. OSU's No. 5 ranking over the previous two weeks is the highest ranking OSU has achieved since the Cowboys were ranked second nationally in mid-February of 1992. OSU was ranked No. 2 for two weeks before dropping back to eighth that year. Four of Oklahoma State's opponents this season are ranked in the top 25 of both polls (Kansas, Oklahoma, Cincinnati and Missouri), while four more are receiving votes in at least one of the polls. Here is a look at where OSU has ranked in each poll this season:

Baker Nearing Top 30 All-Time
With six points vs. Kansas, Maurice Baker has 872 points in his career at OSU. He surpassed Joe Smith for 31st on the all-time list, and needs just 17 points to move past James King and into the top 30 all-time. If he does so, he will be just the third player in the top 30 with just two years in a Cowboy uniform, joining current Director of Basketball Operations Brooks Thompson (996 points in 1993-94) and Ed Odom (945 points in 1979-80).
J?nz?n, Sanders Consistently in the Starting Lineup
Senior Fredrik J?nz?n and junior Melvin Sanders have started 53 and 47 consecutive games for OSU, respectively, ranking eighth and 10th on the Cowboy consecutive starts list. J?nz?n needs four more to move past Brett Robisch (56) for seventh, while Sanders needs four more to surpass Brooks Thompson (50) for ninth on the list.
Gadson Coming On Strong
Junior college transfer Cheyne Gadson was hampered by knee surgery in the preseason, but the point guard is getting stronger every game. His playing time is up over 18 minutes per game. He is averaging 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He also has 38 assists, an average of 2.2 per game. He started the New Orleans game and vs. Texas at guard, and will see more action with OSU in a three-guard lineup.
Victor Williams Showing Leadership Qualities
With fellow starting guard Maurice Baker hampered by injury, junior Victor Williams stepped up with 18 points vs. Texas. It was his third-straight game with 17 or more points, and he now has 13 double-figure scoring games this season. Vic is second on the team in scoring with a 13.3 ppg average, and is also second on the team in free-throw percentage (.809) and three-point percentage (.397). He has 64 assists, leading the team, and 38 turnovers, a 1.68 assist-to-turnover ratio.
McFarlin Posting Big Numbers
Oklahoma State sophomore Ivan McFarlin is showing the league what the coaching staff has known all along - he's a prime-time player. In his first season with the Cowboys (he was a partial qualifier last season), he has 10 double-figure scoring games with a season-high of 19 points. He also recorded his first double-double in the second game of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds vs. Austin Peay. He had back-to-back double-doubles with 10 and 10 vs. Arkansas and 11 and 11 vs. Ball State. He had four-straight double-figure rebounding games. In the first exhibition game of the season, I-Mac had 20 rebounds, including 10 on each end of the court. He is second on the team in steals with 28 and is also second on the team with his 16 blocked shots. He is third in the Big 12 Conference in field-goal shooting, connecting on 58.4 percent of his shots.
OSU in the Big 12 Statistics
Oklahoma State leads the Big 12 Conference in two-of-three defensive statistical category. The Cowboys are second in scoring defense (61.4 ppg), and first in both field-goal percentage defense (38.5 percent) and three-point field-goal defense (26.9 percent). OSU is third in the Big 12 in scoring margin, outscoring its opponents by an average of 15.1 points per contest, trailing Oklahoma (22.1) and Kansas (16.1). Oklahoma State is fourth in rebounding margin, averaging 7.9 rebounds more per game than its opponents.
J?nz?n Moving Up Scoring Chart
With 13 points vs. Ball State, senior center Fredrik J?nz?n became just the 23rd player in school history to record 1,000 points in their career. He now has 1,054 points, ranking 21st on the OSU career scoring list. Fred is now 59 points from surpassing Richard Dumas and moving into the top 20 all-time. Dumas had 1,112 from 1988-90.
J?nz?n Surpasses 600 Career Rebounds
Senior center Fredrik J?nz?n moved into ninth-place on the career rebounding chart with his seven boards vs. Northwestern State. He now has 648 in his four years at OSU. He is just the 10th player in school history to record 600 boards in a career. With his 1,054 points, he is the eighth player in school history to record 1,000 points and 600 rebounds in a career.
OSU Post Players Host Block Party
Through the first 17 games, OSU has blocked 66 shots, and average of 3.9 swats a game. Andre Williams leads the team with 21, followed by Ivan McFarlin with 16 and Antoine Broxsie with 14 blocked shots. Fredrik J?nz?n has eight, while Maurice Baker has four. Melvin Sanders has two and Jack Marlow has one. Williams had four vs. Cincinnati, three vs. Northwestern State and three more vs. Texas, while Broxsie had three vs. TCU, New Orleans and Northwestern State. McFarlin had three vs. North Texas and Ball State.
Andre Williams Fifth on All-Time Blocked Shots Chart
Oklahoma State junior Andre Williams recorded four blocks in the first game of the seeason vs. Cincinnati, and 20 total this year. He became just the fifth player in school history to reach the century mark in blocked shots in his career. The amazing fact is that he accomplished that feat in just two seasons, the second Cowboy ever to do so. Byron Houston had 131 blocks after his sophomore year, and also owns the all-time career blocked-shots record with 223. Andre has had six multiple-block games this season, including three vs. Northwestern State and Texas.
