OSU Netters Advance to WTT Championship

Oklahoma State's tennis team advances to the finals of the World Team Tennis National Collegiate Championships after defeating Fresno State,23-20, and Alabama,28-13.
OSU started off the day by defeating Fresno State, 23-20, in the morning session of the tournament.
The highlight of the match was junior Linda Faltynkova's impressive victory over No. 5 ranked Kim Niggemeyer, 6-1.
Senior men's tennis player Matt Prentice recorded the first match victory for OSU by defeating Nick Fustar in the men's singles match. Prentice also teamed up with senior Fran Krepelka to beat Fustar and Alex Krohn in the men's doubles match.
The Cowboys made their way to the championship match by defeating Alabama, 28-13.
Faltynkova was responsible for 18 of OSU's 30 points. After teaming up with sophomore Katya Kolodynska to take the women's doubles match over Becca Baum and Weyli Chang,6-1, Faltynkova won the women's singles match over Chang, 6-3. Faltynkova also paired up with Krepelka to win the mixed doubles match, 6-0, over Nick Beugue and Chang.
OSU also captured the men's doubles match when Prentice and Krepelka beat Chris McRae and Beugue, 6-3.
The Cowboys will face South Alabama tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. PT for the WTT National Collegiate Championship.
