OSU Netters Begin the Season Strong

The Oklahoma State tennis team starts off the season 2-0 after defeating Princeton and Santa Clara in the World Team Tennis National Collegiate Championships in San Diego.
OSU rebounded against Princeton after dropping the first two sets to out-score the Tigers 18-7 in the last three matches. Junior Linda Faltynkova recorded the first match victory for the Cowboys when she defeated Priya Bhuphathi of Princeton, 6-0, in the women's singles match.
Men's senior Fran Krepelka teamed up with Faltynkova in the mixed doubles match to beat Kristi Watson and Trevor Smith, 6-2.
The tennis squad recorded their second victory of the day by sweeping all five matches against Santa Clara. The women's duo of sophomore Katya Kolodynska and Faltynkova got the Pokes heading in the right direction after defeating Santa Clara's Christine Limbers and Janale Kaloi, 6-2.
Men's senior standout Matt Prentice kept the winning streak going by defeating Mike Bruggerman, 6-3, in the men's singles match. Prentice then teamed up with Krepelka to beat Camargo and Bruggerman, 6-3, in the men's doubles match. That victory pushed the Cowboys lead to 18-8.
Faltynkova helped capture the last two victories for OSU by winning the women's singles match, 6-2, against Kaloi and winning the mixed doubles match with Krepelka, 6-5, against Camargo and Limbers.
OSU will look to improve their record tomorrow when they face Fresno State at 9 a.m.
