Three OSU Netters Ranked in Preseason Poll

STILLWATER, Okla. - Three Oklahoma State men's and women's tennis players received individaul rankings in the 2001-2002 International Tennis Association (ITA) Preseason Poll that was released Friday.
On the men's side, senior Matt Prentice leads the way for the Cowboys with a No. 59 ranking. The Wellington, New Zealand native finished the 2001 season with a 13-11 record at the No. 1 singles position and a final ranking at No. 96. Prenctice was an NCAA singles qualifier and was named to the All-Big 12 team.
All-Big 12 senior Fran Krepelka from Kosice,Slovakia enters the season with a ranking at No. 90. Krepelka finished last season with a record of 16-4 and was crowned the Big 12 singles champion at the No. 4 position.
Prenctice and Krepelka will also pair up at the No. 1 doubles position where they hold a No. 45 preseason ranking.
On the women's side in singles, junior Linda Faltynkova enters the season with a No. 62 ranking. The Uhersky Brod, Czech Republic native finished the 2001 season with a record of 21-4 and a Big 12 singles championship at the No. 3 position. Faltynkova was also crowned Big 12 champion at the No. 2 doubles position after finishing the season with an impressive record of 26-0. She was selected to the 2001 All-Big 12 doubles team.
The men's team will begin their tournament season September 28 at the WTT National Championships in San Diego.
The women's team will begin their season September 28 at the Las Vegas Invitational.
The next individual rankings will be listed after the fall season in December. The preseason team rankings will be released before the beginning of dual match part of the season in January.
