Cowgirl Golfers Finish Third At Dick McGuire Invitational

Albuquerque, N.M. - Oklahoma State senior Emma Zackrisson shot one-under-par 72s in the second and third rounds, leading the Cowgirls to a third-place finish this weekend at the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational. Zackrisson's three-round total of 219 was good enough for fourth place individually.
Cowgirl junior Linda Wessberg also finished in the top 10, carding a 221 for the tournament and finishing ninth. Fellow junior Christi Cano shot a 223 and finished 11th.
Two freshmen, Annie Thurman and Stephanie Quinn, were the other golfers for OSU. Thurman finished 25th with a 228, while Quinn finished 46th with a 242.
New Mexico won the team-shortened tournament with an 875, which ended up having just eight schools participate. New Mexico State finished five strokes back at 880, while the Cowgirls finished 16 strokes back at 891.
Oklahoma State will next compete in the NCAA Preview, Sept. 24-26, in Auburn, Wash.
