Cowgirl Golf In Sixth Place At NCAA Central Regional

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Oklahoma State's 10th-ranked women's golf team is in sixth place after the first round of the NCAA Central Regional here Thursday afternoon, shooting a team total of 304, nine strokes behind team leader Purdue. Sophomore Linda is tied for second individually with a one-under-par 71, one stroke behind Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh.
Purdue leads the field with a 295, three strokes ahead of second-place Texas (298) and four strokes ahead of third-place Kent State (299). Tulsa is in fourth place with a 300, while New Mexico State rounds out the top five with a 303.
Wessberg is tied with Purdue's Kari Damron at one-under, while Cowgirl senior Maria Boden is tied for 15th place with a three-over 75. OSU junior Emma Zackrisson and sophomore Christi Cano are both tied for 44th place with a seven-over 79, while Julie Jacques rounds out the Cowgirl scorers with an 80.
The tournament will continue on Friday with another round of 18 holes, and conclude on Saturday with a final round of 18.
