Conference Announces Men's and Women's Tennis Individual Champions

Two Cowboys and four Cowgirls have been selected to the 2001 Big 12 Tennis All-Conference teams in a vote of league head coaches announced by the conference on Wednesday, April 26.
Junior Matt Prentice and junior Fran Krepelka were two of the 12 selected on the men's singles category.
Prentice compiled a record of 12-10 this spring and finished the regular season with a national ranking of 67, while Krepelka recorded a 15-4 record this spring and was named the No. 4 singles Big 12 Champion.
Sophomore Jiri Jezek was named the Big 12 singles Champion at the No. 5 position with a 13-7 record.
The Cowgirls' 50th-ranked senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips was the only Cowgirl selected to the All-Conference Team in the singles category.
OSU's 36th-ranked tandem of Phillips and junior Ashleigh Dolman were selected to the team in the doubles category along with sophomore Linda Faltynkova and freshman Katarzyna Kolodynska.
In her last year as a Cowgirl, Phillips was named the Big 12 singles champion at the No. 1 position.
Faltynkova tied with Eva Novotna at the No. 3 position as the Big 12 singles Chamion, while sophomore Kate Vasylyeva was the Big 12 Champion at the No. 5 spot.
In the doubles category, junior Dominika Olszewska and Vasylyeva were the Big 12 Champions at the No. 3 spot, while Phillips and Dolman were the champs at the No. 1 position.
Faltynkova and Kolodynska were the Big 12 Champions at the No. 2 spot with a perfect 24-0 record.
The Cowgirls and Cowboys will prepare for the NCAA Tournament on May 17 in Georgia.
