Oklahoma State's women's tennis team continued its 16-match winning streak on Friday by defeating the Kansas Jayhawks at the Big 12 Tournament in Waco, Texas.
The Cowgirls won two of the three doubles matches and three of the six singles matches en route to a 4-0 victory over the Jayhawks.
Junior Dominika Olszewska and sophomore Kate Vasylyeva recorded the first victory for the Cowgirls by defeating Cheryl and Lisa Mallaiah, 8-2, while the 36th-ranked duo of senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips and junior Ashleigh Dolman notched the first team point by defeating the Steinbock sisters (Courtney and Kristen), 8-4.
OSU recorded its second and third team point when sophomore Linda Faltynkova defeated C. Steinbock, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 3 spot, and Vasylyeva downed Emily Haylock in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 5 position.
OSU clinched the win when freshman Katarzyna Kolodynska defeated L. Mallaiah in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6.
With the win, OSU advances into the semifinal round against host Baylor.
