Oklahoma State's men's tennis team swept all three doubles matches and three of six singles matches en route to a 4-3 victory over Colorado on Sunday.
Colorado recorded the first team point when Mirko Jonavanic defeated senior Chris Bates, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot, while sophomore Eru Lyndon fell to Justin Hunter, 6-1, 6-3, at the No. 3 spot earning Colorado its second team point.
The Buffaloes last point came at the No. 1 position when Maciej Diaj defeated junior Matt Prentice in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
With Colorado taking the decisive 3-0 lead in a manner of moments, things didn't look bright for the Cowboys. Until sophomore Jiri Jezek notched the first team point for the Cowboys by defeating Bryan Knepper, 7-6, 7-6, at the No. 5 spot.
With Jezek's win, the Cowboys would turn the match around, winning the next two singles matches to tie the score at three all.
OSU earned its second and third team points when junior Fran Krepelka defeated Jarad Harbaugh, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5, and freshman Anthony Zafiris defeated Andy Winter, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, at the Nos. 4 and 6 positions, respectively.
With the score tied at three, the match was to be decided heading into doubles action.
When Bates and Krepelka defeated Hunter and Knepper, 8-3, at the No. 1 spot, the Cowboys had the advantage.
Prentice and Lyndon defeated Bilaj and Jozanovich, 8-5, while Zafiris and Jezek defeated Harbaugh and Winter, 8-5, clinching the victory for the Cowboys.
With the victory, OSU secured the No. 4 seed in the Big 12 Tournament and went undefeated in the region.
