Cowboy Tennis rolls past Sooners

Oklahoma State's 42nd-ranked men's tennis team (11-7, 3-3 Big 12) swept the singles and doubles matches from the Sooners on Tuesday at Norman to record its third straight victory.
Senior Chris Bates and sophomore Fran Krepelka dominated Julio Martinez and Evan Davis, 8-1, at the No. 2 spot, while freshman Anthony Zafiris and sophomore Jiri Jezek pounded Blake Mason and Mat Price, 8-2, at the No. 3 spot.
The 48th-ranked duo of junior Matt Prentice and sophomore Eru Lyndon completed the doubles sweep by defeating Chris Mitchel and Matt Ogle, 8-5, improving their record to 6-5.
Prentice defeated Martinez, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, at the No. 1 position to improve his season record to 11-6, while Bates outlasted Ogle in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, at the No. 2 postion.
Krepelka won his ninth consecutive match by defeating Davis, 6-2, 6-0, at the No. 4 spot, improving his record to 12-2 on the season.
Lyndon, Jezek, and Zafiris all recorded victories at the Nos. 3, 5, and 6 positons, respectively.
The Cowboys will return to action on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the DeBois Center when they host Tulsa.
