Oklahoma State's women's tennis team swept all six singles matches and both doubles matches en route to a 7-0 victory over No. 42 SMU on Sunday at the DeBois Center.
"Coming off spring break I didn't know how the girls would play," head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski said. "But they came out and played unbelievable. They played through the cold weather and got the victory."
The 15th-ranked Cowgirls were led by senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips. The 88th-ranked Moscow, Russia, native upended SMU's 36th-ranked Dee Dee Herring in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0, at the No. 1 position, while sophomore Linda Faltynkova recorded her sixth consecutive victory, improving her record to 12-2, by defeating Cherise Terrill, 6-0, 6-2, at the No. 3 spot.
The Cowgirls' 21st-ranked duo of Galoustova-Phillips and junior Ashleigh Dolman recorded their ninth victory by defeating Kit Carson and Terrill, 8-3, at the No. 1 spot, while Faltynkova and freshman Katarzyna Kolodynska notched the first team point by beating Katie Pruett and Herring, 8-3, at the No. 2 position.
With the win, Faltynkova and Kolodynska recorded their 15th consecutive victory, improving their record to 15-0 on the year.
