Cowgirl Tennis Rolls Past No. 19 Ohio State

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team knocked off 19th-ranked Ohio State Friday at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wisconsin.
"I am very proud of the girls," head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski said. "They came out from the start and played like they wanted to win and they got it done."
OSU swept all three doubles matches and won four out of six singles matches en route to a 5-2 victory.
"This is a very good win for our program," Lubicz-Majewski said. "Ohio State was a tough team and we have to get ready to play another great team on Saturday."
OSU's 45th-ranked doubles team of senior Maria Phillips and junior Ashleigh Dolman outlasted the Buckeye's 17th-ranked doubles team of Kristy Dascoli and Monica Rincon 8-6.
Sophomore Linda Faltynkova got the first singles point at the no. 3 position by beating Sadhaf Pervez in straight sets 6-2, 6-0.
Freshman Katarzyna Kolodynska got the victory at the no. 4 position blowing by Erica Fisk, 6-2, 6-3, while freshman Kate Vasylyeva won the no. 5 position by defeating Claudia Castro, 7-6(6), 6-4. Junior Ashleigh Dolman sealed the deal at the no. 6 position by outlasting Laura Maloney in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(4).
OSU came into the tournament ranked No. 40 and will play No. 9 Tennessee Saturday morning.
