Oklahoma State opens the 2001-02 season at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Friday with a 7 p.m. tip against Spartak Moscow. The matchup is the first of two exhibition contests the Cowgirls will play before kicking off the regular season. OSU is coming off a 16-15 mark last season and a berth in the WNIT, where it reached the quarterfinals.
Spartak Moscow is coached by Sergei Yerofeev and Stillwater will be the sixth stop on his team's nine-game schedule. The squad opened the tour with losses to Colorado State (114-54), Colorado (119-73), Tulsa (79-56) Southwest Missouri State (99-54) and Arkansas (109-52).
After its matchup with OSU, Spartak Moscow will finish its schedule with games against Washburn (Nov. 10), Kansas State (Nov. 11) and Wichita State (Nov. 12).
Coming Up
OSU will face a stiff test in the form of the Houston Jaguars on Tuesday,
November 13 at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Jaguars will bring a talented squad

Forward Jamie Redd (Seattle Storm), forward Vanessa Nygaard (Portland Fire)
and Amanda Lassiter (Houston Comets) are all members of the professional
ranks as well as center Denique Graves, who is currently a member of the
NWBL's Atlanta Justice.
