Oklahoma State's No. 90th-ranked senior Fran Krepelka defeated Bringham Young's No. 83rd-ranked Carlos Lozano 6-3, 6-3 today at the ITA Men's All-American Championships at Stone Mountain, Ga.
"It was a positive start for Fran. I am really hoping that this form is a gauge as to Fran's improvement from last year," said Head Coach James Wadley. "He played a great match against a quality opponent."
Krepelka will play on Wednesday in the second round of the Qualifying Round against Stanford's No. 100th-ranked Sam Warburg.
On Thursday Krepelka will team up with senior Matt Prentice in the Main Draw doubles competition. The duo is currently ranked No. 45 in doubles.
Prentice, ranked No. 59 in singles, will also play in the Main Draw singles competition on Thursday.
Krepelka and Prentice played a large role in winning the WTT National Championship on Sept. 30 in San Diego.
