Postgame Quotes
OSU Coach Eddie Sutton
On his team's defense
"I thought our defense was, really, the whole story. When you talk defense,
it's not only how you cover, but how you rebound. Defensive rebounding,
overall, I thought was good. Any time you beat a ball club 47-31 on the
glass, and you hold them to 34 percent shooting from the field, you have a
very good chance to win. I thought the first half was especially good. In
the second half we didn't play as well, but that happens many times when you
get quite a ways ahead."
On Victor and Andre Williams
"I was pleased to see Victor (Williams) continue his scoring and I was very
pleased to see Andre (Williams) finally start playing. He must just be a
second half player, because that's what happened the other night. The way he
plays he doesn't have to score points just as long as he blocks shots and
plays defense and rebounds. I think this is the first time this year he has
got a double-double."
On Maurice Baker
"Mo (Baker) did not look to score very much tonight, but still he ended up
with a double-double. He's the most amazing guard I've coached in a long
time that can rebound like he does."
On the winning the game
"We are happy to win the ball game and if you are going to stay in a
conference race than you have to win the games at home or the majority of
them. The second half got a little sloppy and we made some mistakes. We'll
try and get some of those things corrected."

Postgame Quotes
Oklahoma State Players
Forward Andre Williams
On the intensity of the game
"I think we came into this game with the same intensity that we had on
Monday night. Coach emphasized that we play well when we have a lot of
intensity, and we just try to do that game in and game out. Coach has been
telling us all week that we have to keep our hands off of people because we
foul too much. Late in the games, it hurts us. But we came into this game,
and Vic (Williams) kept his hands off and I kept my hands off people and we
just didn't let anyone get anywhere."
On his performance
"I get to see what's going on. I get to really get up for the game. I
don't mind not starting. It's fun coming off the bench and bringing a spark
to the game. I came out kind of slow the first half. I didn't do anything
the first half, I don't think. The second half, everything just started
clicking. I was on a roll, and just one after another fell in my hands."
On getting five blocks
"The crowd goes crazy for them (the blocks). It's fun, stopping the other
team from scoring."
Guard Victor Williams
On improving his shot
"I really have been putting a lot of time in on my shot. I wasn't shooting
as I had anticipated going into the season."
On the team's defensive strength
"I think going into the season, a lot of people had us picked pretty low in
the Big 12. We just took that as a personal challenge. We just went out
and we just wanted to prove to everyone that just because we are a young
ballclub that we still want to play defense. We're a great defensive team.
I think we did that tonight."

Oklahoma State Locker Room Quotes
Guard Maurice Baker
On the slow start in the second half
"We need to come out and play hard the whole game. We can't let up when we
come out of the locker room. We let the other team score three baskets in a
row to start the second half. Coach (Sutton) has to burn a timeout to get
us pumped up again. We need to come out of the locker room pumped up and
ready to play a strong second half. "
On what the team needs to improve on
"We need to worry about playing hard for forty minutes. If we can play hard
for the whole game, we can match up with anybody in the country. The main
thing that we need to improve on is to play hard the whole game as a team."

Postgame Quotes
Texas Tech Coach James Dickey
"Congratulations to Coach (Sutton) and his ballclub. I thought their defense was outstanding throughout the game, but especially in the first half. They really took us out of anything that we wanted to do offensively. I really thought going into the game, personnel wise, we had to do a good job on (Maurice) Baker and (Fredrik) Jonzen. We did that, but the difference in the game was Victor (Williams) and Andre (Williams). I thought they were outstanding, and Baker did a great job on the boards. We backed off of Victor a little bit. He hadn't been shooting the ball very well. He just filled it up, and he had 14 at halftime. Their defense really took us out of what we wanted to do and allowed the crowd to stay in the game.
On Gallagher-Iba
"It's a beautiful building. They've done a great job with it. They've got
wonderful crowd support, and the fans really do a great job of motivating
the team."
On the Cowboys' defense
"I thought their defense was great this afternoon. You just can't shoot the
ball as poorly as we did, and certainly a lot of our shooting had to do with
their defense."

Postgame Quotes
Red Raider Players
Cliff Owens
On the game
"Every time they made a run on the offensive end we could not answer. They
took it to us for 40 minutes and we had no response. We didn't play hard, we
didn't execute and we didn't do the things you have to do to be a good Big
12 team today."
On not knocking down their shots
"If you look at us the past couple of games when we were successful, we were
knocking down threes. The key to the game was there wasn't one shot we took
that wasn't contested. We didn't do that to them on the other end. They made
us work and we didn't make them work."
On this year's OSU team
"It is kind of shocking to see who left and who graduated. I guess that is
just Coach Sutton for you. They had to rebuild from scratch and he has done
a pretty good job. They are young, energetic, good at home and they really
feed off the crowd. It is different than the past, I think they are capable
of running a little bit more. Their defense is really what makes them
different from some of the past teams."
