STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's tennis team will open the fall season Friday at the Hurricane Invitational in Tulsa. The event will be the first of four the Cowboys will compete in during fall season.
"It will be a good indicator of whether or not our work during the summer has paid off," said Cowboy assistant coach Brad Chiller.
OSU returns five letterwinners from last year's squad that finished fifth in the Big 12, including the Cowboy's No. 1 singles player, junior Matt Prentice
The Cowboys top doubles team of Prentice and sophomore Eru Lyndon enter the season ranked No. 48 in the nation. The tandem will be looking to improve upon their 11-8 record from a year ago.
Competing at the No. 2 doubles position will be senior Chris Bates and junior Fran Krepelka. The duo amassed a 15-3 record last season.
"I think it will be a good year," Chiller said. "We will play some good teams and then we will see how good we actually are."
