Boden In Fourth Place At NCAA

TEMPE, Ariz. - Maria Boden's second-round 69 on Friday moved her into fourth place individually heading into the final round of the NCAA Women's Golf West Regional.
Boden, tied with UTEP's Kristen MacLaren at 2-under-par 142 through 36 holes, is three strokes behind Arizona State's Miriam Nagl, who leads at 5-under. Southern California's Candie Kung and San Jose State's Rebecka Heinmert are at 4-under with 18 holes left.
However, Boden's Oklahoma State teammates have some final-round work to do in order to make OSU's 16th team appearance at the NCAA Championship. The Cowgirls are in 15th place at 608 as a team, the top 11 teams at the regional qualify for the national tournament, and OSU must make up eight strokes Saturday to reach that level.
The next-best three individuals also qualify for the tournament, and Boden and MacLaren head into Saturday's final round as the top players in that category.
Individually for OSU, Emma Zackrisson and Natasha Rowe stand at 11-over-par 155, tied for 72nd place. Linda Wessberg (91st at 157) and Christi Cano (121st at 165) round out the lineup.
