KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The 50th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team will take on the Kansas Jayhawks at 11 a.m. on Friday in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament.
The Cowboys enter the tournament 11-7 overall and 4-4 in Big 12 play. They are the event's No. 5 seed.
OSU owns a 26-15 advantage in the all-time series against the Jayhawks. During the regular season, the Pokes defeated the Jayhawks 4-3 in Lawrence on April 2. However, Kansas won an appeal that reversed the decision.
Leading the way for the Cowboys will be the No. 1 doubles squad of Eru Lyndon and Matt Prentice. The duo has amassed a 13-5 record on the season and is currently ranked No. 46 in the country.
In singles action, the Pokes have been bolstered by the play of a trio of freshman. At the No. 2 position, Lyndon owns a 9-8 record and has won six of his last seven outings.
At the No. 4 slot, Fran Krepelka opened the spring season with a nine-match winning streak and will bring a 15-3 record to Kansas City.
Splitting time between the Nos. 5 and 6 slots, Jiri Jezek has amassed a 13-5 mark in his inaugural season with the Cowboys. The Pribram, Czech Republic, native has won three of his last four contests.
