STILLWATER, Okla. -- The 65th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team will see its first home action of the season on Wednesday when they host No. 57 Oklahoma at the DuBois Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
The Cowboys, who are riding a two-match winning streak, are 8-4 overall and 1-1 in Big 12 action. The Sooners enter the contest at 11-8 and 0-3.
The two school's have met on the courts 47 times, with their first meeting coming in 1965. The Cowboys hold a 26-21 advantage in the series' history and have won the last five meetings between the two schools.
Wednesday's contest will be a battle between the Cowboys' youth and the Sooners' experience. Of the eight players on the OSU roster, six are either freshman or sophomores. On the flip side, the Sooners' roster is dotted with four seniors and one junior.
"It will be a very tight match and there is little margin for error," Cowboy head coach James Wadley said. "It is always fun when these two schools get together in any sport, because anything can happen when it is Bedlam."
OSU will be led in singles action by sophomores Matt Prentice and Fran Krepelka. Competing primarily at the No. 1 position, Prentice has compiled a record of 8-4 this season. Krepelka, a transfer from West Florida, has compiled a record of 11-1 at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.
The match will kick off a three-match home stand for the Cowboys, who host Texas Tech on Saturday and Nebraska on Sunday.
